My perfect day off making and creating is to go on the hunt for inspiration. So on the hottest day of the year, so far, we set off to Hidcote Gardens in Gloucestershire. It’s one of our annual pilgrimages to our favourite garden of all time. Over the years we’ve found some hidden treasures of cafe’s, vintage barns and of course the gorgeous Cotswold villages. So today I thought I would share with you one of our finds – Cafe’ Violette
What is it?
Discover Stratford says:
“Cafe Violette is a cosy French bistro based in the village of Long Marston, a few miles outside of Stratford. They offer locally sourced food and drink, breakfast, lunch and candlelit dinner. They also boast a relaxing garden in the summer and Victorian log burning stove for a cosy, romantic setting in the winter. A glance at their menu shows that they offer a very French style menu of simple, well cooked food, adding a touch of je ne sais quoi to Stratford’s eating establishments.”
It has mixed reviews but for me it’s a gem of shabby chic, eclectic coziness with gorgeous home made cakes and freshly ground coffee – perfect! Every corner, ceiling and wall is crammed with lovely vintage finds.
Right next door is one of the best vintage barns around The Barn Antiques Centre win win!
Take a look at Cafe’ Violette’s interior and below let me know what you like or even better – share one of your special places to go.
